Zaiou Tenuki Ryoricho is a Japanese cookbook designed for Japanese expats living in Germany and beyond. Having limited access to Japanese ingredients, many expats shy away from cooking their home dishes, despite the fact that they miss the taste of home. The authour, Yumiko Tsuboi, was one of them. After living in Germany for some time, she developed many easy recipes to recreate popular Japanese dishes, using the ingredients readily available in local supermarkets. In this book, she shares 83 of them along with tips from her personal experiences, commentaries, and a short essay about her journey of discovering local food culture throughout Europe. We focused on keeping the layout of the spreads simple so the recipes were easy to follow. We also used hand lettering to accent the book with personal touches.
